Chief Academic Officer

Dr. Balow, Chief Academic Officer Dr. Chris Balow joined SchoolMint in 2019 following a fulfilling career in public education spanning more than 30 years. His work as a School Psychologist, Assistant Director of Special Education, RtI/Intervention Director, and Director of Research & Assessment positioned him well for the passionate work of guiding struggling students to improve their academic, behavioral, social, and emotional status. Chris had devoted decades to researching, developing, and expanding the implementation of evidence-based, multi-tiered behavioral frameworks and he continues this important work with SchoolMint sharing his expertise with our internal teams and with our partner districts alike.

In more recent years, Chris has served as an educational consultant and Executive Director of Research in the edtech space and adjunct instructor in the School Psychology program at the University of Minnesota where he was a supervisor for Ph.D. graduate students and taught courses in academic, social/emotional, and behavioral interventions.
