Hero K12 Mints Its First Acquisition: School Enrollment Startup, SchoolMint

By: Tony Wan, EdSurge, October 30, 2017

Miami Lakes, Fla.-based Hero K12 makes first acquisition – SchoolMint – San Francisco-based mobile and web-based platform which helps parents and districts manage the school application and enrollment process.

Hero K12 had been actively looking to add assets to capture data on the “student journey,” and help districts improve their backend operational efficiencies, says Oliver Wreford, the company’s chief product and strategy officer.  With BV Investment Partners’ backing, Hero K12 want to deploy capital on a platform to creates integrated administrative solutions and better connect student data and processes to create safer, more connected school environments.”

That student data trail, in Wreford’s eyes, starts with enrollment tools like SchoolMint’s. “That’s when communication starts and information is exchanged,” he adds. “It was a very logical starting point for us to expand our platform.”

There are no immediate plans to integrate SchoolMint’s technology with Hero K12’s offerings.
