L.A. Unified Moves Closer to a Unified Enrollment System

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Board of Education voted to approve the creation of a unified application for LA Unified schools, including magnet programs and dual language programs. LAUSD Superintendent Michelle King promoted the proposal as a way to both simplify the enrollment process for families and to reverse a trend of declining enrollment. Charter schools will not be part of the system initially but may be added in future years.
